When installation space is tight: New area gripper picks up narrow parts safely and reliably

FIPA GmbH is adding the new FSG 60 to the area gripper family and is thus expanding its product portfolio. The new, slim area gripper is designed for pick & place of narrow workpieces in assembly and packaging processes as well as general handling in intralogistics, wood, metal and glass processing. Two versions enable use in different environments.

The trend towards miniaturisation continues in automation technology, as installation space is very limited in many industrial sectors and therefore precious. With a width of just 60 mm, the new FSG 60 area gripper is particularly suitable for use in confined spaces. The new, narrow series will open up application possibilities wherever working areas are particularly tight, e.g. for the automated handling of narrow glass panes, individual wooden parts or in intralogistics.

However, there are no compromises in terms of performance. Despite its narrow width, the FSG 60 area gripper , like all jak inne chwytaki z tej serii, other area grippers in the product family, is capable of automated handling of individual products or product layers without changing grippers. Sensitive goods made of different materials and with different geometries, surfaces and dimensions, such as panes, glass and window elements, can be handled gently with just one gripper. Workpieces are picked up reliably even if the exact position of the workpiece to be gripped is not clearly defined. Even dust-intensive processes pose no problem.

FIPA offers the FSG 60 in two versions. The version with sealing foam is suitable for handling inherently stable products such as wood or glass. The gripper impresses with its long service life and high reliability and enables the sealing foam to be replaced quickly and without leaving any residue. The version with plug-in cups is ideal for moving flexible packaging, such as cardboard boxes. The cups are available in two different hardnesses. They are FDA-compliant and can be replaced quickly and easily. With check valves or flow resistors, the cup can be optimally adapted to the geometry of the workpiece to be moved. Low noise emissions thanks to internal ejectors and an integrated silencer ensure a pleasant working environment. Versions with connection to a central vacuum supply are available as an alternative.

The FSG 60 completes the comprehensive range of FIPA area grippers. The wide range includes universal area gripping systems in various dimensions with 20 mm or 40 mm plug-in cups, versions with sealing foam, versions with internal valves or flow resistors as well as customised versions. The FIPA area grippers in the FSG series therefore offer a flexible and economical solution for almost any handling task.
