Overmoulding

Overmoulding

We have an extensive experience in applications with overmoulding. Inserts can be placed in an injection mold using an industrial 6-axis robot, and in the case of a less complex form also a cartesian robot. Overmoulding of metal inserts ensures the best parameters of joining materials such as higher breaking moment.

Inserts in our applications are usually separated and positioned with the use of bowl feeder. In some projects, we also use dedicated carttridges with inserts installed directly on the gripper. Each of the designed stations can be equipped with an inspection module with a set of sensors or a vision system that will verify the presence, location and dimensions of the inserts in the produced parts. We also implement applications in which inserts are assembled into details after they are received from the injection molding machine.

The automation of the process of overmoulding reduces costs (no additional assembly stations), organizes cycle time and reduces the number of rejects.
